In Type 1, I captured the fundamentals of Graphic and Type design. Anatomy of type, justified type, and vusual hierarchy were key in my final project; designing a three page magazine spread. I chose an article about midcentury furniture design, highlighting it’s rise and controversey in it’s return to the zeitgeist. Taking this course added to my catalog of skills that assist me in the relationship to Transportation Design. Creating compelling visual narratives and using grid systems and storytelling to convey a theme that resonates with the audience often goes overlooked. Here, I get the opportunity to hone in on visual hierarchy.
